Switch Off Campaign was launched last week. The response was very encouraging from students and teachers. This campaign shall continue until end of this year. We hope to see some reduction in electricity usage soon....Insyallah!

The fans are switched off only up to 10:30am ,after morning recess students are allowed to switch on back , we are not introducing any discomfort to our students cause the fan blackout period is only in the morning which is still considered a cooling period .
To raise awareness on the importance of protecting our planet & the need for everyone within Al Irsyad -teachers, parents & school children to take action. We believe if teachers, parents & students work together and demonstrate school own conservation efforts to improve our environment, insyaAllah our young Irsyadians have a better chance of growing up to do the same.

Switch Off Light and Fan Campaign - Update
School Clean Up !!

Time : 08:30 - 11:00 a.m.
School clean up was held by PIBG (Persatuan Ibu Bapa dan Guru) to cultivate
parents, teachers and students to love clean school environment.
Post Mortem Study Tour @Ma'Daerah with BP Volunteers
Date event : 19th June 2009
To identify the weaknesses pertaining to the competition during Study Tour @Ma'Daerah.
There are few suggestions given by volunteers in order to make our future
presentation as well as exhibition @Pusat Sains Negara on November 2009 will be
better...insyaAllah. (A lot of hardwork is needed, indeed!!)
Edible Garden - planting started....

Up to now, we have planted tapioca , brinjals, 'misai kucing' and 'kacang botol' plant at our Edible Garden.
Switch Off Fan Campaign

Objectives :
1. To minimize the usage of fan in the morning.
2. Through this campaign electricity bill could be reduced.
How???
Students and teachers must switch off fan from 8 a.m. till 9:50 a.m.

Four of our students team and a teacher in charge - Ms Nor Aini were at BP Ma' Daerah Turtle Sanctuary Centre, Kerteh for 3D 2N Study Tour. The team had a good environmental exposure esp thru the talks conducted there by MNS, WWF and Fisheries Dept. Getting to know other school participants and learning on what others did to reduce their school's carbon foot prints at their schools thru the schools' exhibitions/presentations/games were another plus points in this stay here!!.
Also not to forget getting a true life experiences releasing baby turtle to the sea and watching real life turtles laying eggs - were wonderful moments and experiences one could ask for @ Ma'Daerah.

Coming up next are ...our school Mini Gardens!!
Coming up with mini gardens are actually part of Irsyad Goes Green -Tree/Plant Planting project. We believe this project could help to offset carbon emmision @ school as plants are always a good counterbalance to carbon emission as they inhale or absorb carbon dioxide and exhale or emit oxygen. Apart from trying to offset this carbon emmision, our students could also get benefits from knowing/learning types of plants there are at these mini gardens, especiallly those that are rare and difficult to find outside..
So far, work already started on these 3 mini gardens .........
1. Hibiscus Mini Garden/Park...InsyaAllah. Variety types of hibiscus will be planted at this mini garden. At this moment , work already started with the garden's soil preparation.
2. Scented Mini Garden - Plot already allocated, Soil preparation already completed. Now few scented plants are started to be planted such as.....
3. Edible Mini Garden - will be planted with vegetables/fruits tree is still at its beginning stage of allocating the spot and fencing task...
