As mentioned in the earlier posting , those learnings from BP's Ma'Daerah programme didnot go to waste but instead were shared among other teachers and students...One of them was this Garbage Enyzme Making.
After a container was placed earlier at the school canteen between 23rd June to 2nd July to collect wastage such as fruits peels from students and teachers, now is the time to proceed with the actual preparation process of the enyzme.
The session was led by Ms Nor Aini , the teacher in charged of this project. The process of making was 1st briefed by her to the participating year 5 students. The students were then led the garbage enzyme making activities, supervised by Ms Nor Aini..
Briefly , Brown sugar and water were first measured before added to the garbage bin. The mixture was then stirred to well mix the brown sugar, water and the garbage. Then it was left for fermentation for 3 months before the enyzme could be used. The whole preparation process took only 20 minutes. The enzyme bin was later left beside the Edible Garden for fermentation. .
The plan and purpose of this project were shared in the earlier posting posted on June 22nd.
